MLB News & Notes: August 14
Catch up on the news from Wednesday with the fantasy impacts that follow.
Julio Rodriguez (OF - SEA)
JRod left Wednesday’s game after tweaking his previously injured ankle. He says it’s nothing major, and it’s just normal pain from scar tissue. We shall see.
Ronel Blanco (SP - HOU)
Blanco left Wednesday’s start after he was hit in the hand by a comebacker. X-rays were negative after the game. Blanco took the no-decision after throwing six shutout innings with four strikeouts.
Michale Harris II (OF - ATL)
Harris was activated from the IL on Wednesday and hit a grand slam in his first at-bat. Eli White returned to AAA.

Glasnow will have his next start pushed back to Saturday to give him an extra day of rest.
Louie Varland (SP - MIN)
Varland was recalled from AAA on Wednesday to make the start for the Twins. He picked up the loss, throwing six innings while allowing three runs and striking out three. Josh Winder returned to AAA.
Byron Buxton (OF - MIN)
Buxton was out of Wednesday’s lineup as he battled a hip injury. His MRI showcased now structural damage, but an IL stint may still be on the table if Buxton can’t return soon.
Oswald Peraza (3B - NYY)
Peraza is being recalled from AAA to take the spot of Jazz Chisholm, who is on the IL with a UCL injury. Over Peraza’s last 34 games at AAA, he’s hitting .302 with seven home runs and nine stolen bases. He could be a sneaky FAAB target this weekend if he gets regular playing time at 3B for the Yankees.
Will Warren (SP - NYY)
Warren was recalled from AAA to make the start on Wednesday. Warren threw five innings, allowing two runs and striking out five versus the White Sox. Enyel De Los Santos was DFA’d.

Enmanuel Valdez (2B,SS - BOS)
Valdez was sent back to AAA with Jarren Duran returning from his suspension.
Carson Kelly (C - TEX)
Something worth monitoring in Texas. Kelly is swinging a good bat, and on Wednesday, he made his fourth start in five games over Jonah Heim. If this continues, Heim may be a drop this weekend.
Liam Hendriks (RP - BOS)
Hendriks threw a live bullpen session on Wednesday. Next, he will likely begin a lengthy rehab assignment, which could lead to a September return for Hendriks, who’s working his way back from TJ.
Ryan Pepiot (SP - TB)
Pepiot appears healthy from the leg infection, and he’ll rejoin the Rays rotation on Friday.
Nathan Eovaldi (SP - TEX)
Eovaldi is cleared of his oblique injury, and he’ll make the start on Saturday.
