2024 Early Second Base Rankings

Entering the 2023 draft season, there appeared to be a discount on second base, at least for second basemen I was interested in drafting. It worked out rather well, but when reviewing the second base position on Bubba & the Bloom EP 80, the cream rose to the top outside of a few exceptions.

Those exceptions, especially Thairo Estrada, were targets of mine, so waiting at second base worked well for me in 2023. 

Looking into 2024, the position feels much deeper than in 2023. It may be fool's gold, but many new names like Matt McLain and Zack Gelof enter the fantasy conversation. Second base is also a very young position that may result in much volatility, good and bad. 

Now, to the rankings. These are preliminary rankings. A LOT will change before the heavy draft season. Don’t worry; I’ll update frequently, and eventually, there will be a Google Doc you’ll have access to where you’ll see the constant updates. For now, this is a starting point and a tool for more open discussion. Enjoy!!!
